Overcoming the problem of double-sided parallelism of the spindle holder
When customizing a key component of a CNC milling machine for a customer, the spindle holder, we encountered a typical technical difficulty:

The part size is 180mm × 120mm × 85mm, and the material is 7075 aluminum alloy;

It is necessary to maintain a parallelism of less than 0.015mm between the two large planes for subsequent bearing assembly and high-speed rotation stability;

The part body is large, and there is a weight reduction groove in the middle, which makes it easy to deform locally during processing;

The surface also requires a high finish of less than Ra1.6.

Optimization of fixture design: vacuum adsorption combined with magnetic auxiliary clamping is used to avoid vise indentation and deformation;
Two finishing processes: After rough machining, keep 0.2mm margin and then naturally age for 12 hours to release internal stress, and then uniformly clamp for finishing;
Select precision face milling tools and use high speed and low feed parameters to ensure uniform cutting force;
Use laser probe to calibrate the coordinate surface reference to ensure positioning accuracy;
After machining, use CMM three-coordinate point-by-point detection to verify that the deviation of the two planes is finally controlled within 0.012mm, meeting the customer's assembly and high-speed rotation requirements.
