We processed an aluminum 7075 multi-faceted connection bracket for a UAV customer, the parameters are as follows:
Material: 7075-T6 aviation aluminum
Size: 110mm long × 80mm wide × 60mm high
Features: There are mounting holes on all six sides, the thinnest area is only 1.2mm, and some holes need to be tapped with M2 threads
Precision requirements: coaxiality of key mounting holes ≤0.015mm, verticality of thread bottom hole ≤0.02mm
Surface treatment: anodized black, no deformation or obvious knife marks
Difficulty analysis
Multi-faceted processing angles, frequent fixture switching, positioning consistency is difficult to control;
Thin-walled structures are easy to deform, and internal stress release may occur during processing;
The processing space in the tapping area of small holes is small, and the processing tool is not easy to enter and easy to break.
Solution
Use a five-axis linkage machining center to achieve multi-faceted one-time clamping and forming, reducing the error of changing clamps;
Perform prestressed annealing before machining to reduce residual stress;
The key holes and threaded positions use high-speed low-feed + micro-spray cooling, and tapping is completed in combination with customized micro-tools;
Finally, pass the three-coordinate full inspection to ensure the consistency and stability of part assembly.
The first-time pass rate of aluminum CNC machining parts required for this project reached 99.7%, and the delivery time was controlled within 7 working days. The customer evaluation stability was much higher than that of the original supplier.
