Processing details and technical difficulties

Processing example: PP piston housing assembly

Part features: The housing has slender reinforcing ribs, threaded sockets, and the wall thickness is as thin as 0.8mm;

Challenges:

PP material has high toughness, high melt flow rate, and is easy to warp during molding;

Thin walls and fine ribs, uneven filling can easily lead to short shots;

PP is not easy to stick to the mold, and cooling deformation is difficult to control.

Solution

Use multi-point balanced injection + hot runner system to optimize filling;

Enhance cooling efficiency in cavity design, and use water channels locally to assist;

Add an online thermal control system during molding to adjust the temperature difference to prevent warping;

Use surface sandblasting to treat the cavity to improve demoulding efficiency and appearance.

Through precise mold processing control and molding debugging, high-consistency mass production was finally achieved, making the yield rate of this set of pp moulding products reach more than 98%, which is much higher than the industry average.
