An industrial customer customized an extruded heat sink for high-power power supply equipment. The teeth are fine and the structure is complex, and the processing challenges are significant:
Material: 6063-T5 aluminum profile
Size: 310mm × 140mm × 45mm
Structure: 65 pieces of 1.1mm thick heat dissipation teeth on the top, with extremely small tooth spacing
Process requirements: milling at both ends, processing M4 countersunk holes, deep processing of slots, flatness required < 0.04mm
Process challenges:
The heat dissipation teeth are too dense, the CNC clamping space is insufficient, and conventional processing methods are prone to deformation;
The slot is close to the root of the tooth, the tool vibration is large, and the tool life is short;
The multi-hole position is centered and symmetrical, and it is required to be clamped all at once, and the processing accuracy is high. ±0.01mm
Solution
Use customized vacuum adsorption fixture to improve clamping stability and avoid crushing heat dissipation teeth;
Use micro carbide tools + low-speed multiple cutting to control thermal deformation and chattering;
Programming uses the same reference point to automatically locate the hole distance, and cooperates with the coordinate tool setting system to process and form in one time;
Finally, three-coordinate measurement + film thickness detection is used to ensure that the product meets strict quality requirements.
