Processing case: multi-channel industrial module heat sink
The customer commissioned us to process an aluminum profile heat sink for industrial power modules, which has a complex structure and great challenges:
Dimensions: 320mm × 160mm × 50mm
Material requirements: 6063-T6 high thermal conductivity aluminum
Difficulty 1: The spacing between the teeth is only 1.4mm, the thickness is only 1.0mm, and it is easy to deform during the extrusion process;
Difficulty 2: During CNC processing, countersinks must be made between each tooth, with a hole depth of 14mm, and the teeth cannot be broken;
Difficulty 3: Both ends need to be milled flat and slide rail grooves opened, with a flatness of ≤0.05mm
Solution
Use precision molds + low-speed and high-pressure extrusion process to control profile accuracy and tooth shape integrity;
Customized adsorption fixtures clamp the bottom of the profile during CNC processing to ensure that the teeth are deformed without pressure;
All inter-tooth holes use long-shank micro milling cutters, and use fixed-depth programming + cooling spray to control deformation;
CNC milling adopts a two-step tool path strategy, and finally uses an air flotation platform to detect flatness.
The final product was successfully delivered once, and customers continued to place orders for more than 10,000 pieces in subsequent projects, which are widely used in the European market.
